On our weekend away Zoe and Collin caught a fish. I’m not sure how much credit Collin should get but he was near by helping her play while we were fishing.
Zoe sat patiently on her little rock reeling in her line letting Nate help her get it unstuck put new bait on it and cast it back out for her over and over. It was no fun for her just to sit there and wait without doing something.
Luckily Collin came by to help entertain her. He had been shunned by the rest of his siblings for throwing things in the lake and scaring away all the fish for they could only catch crawdads while he was around.
Zoe was thankful for the distractions and decided that instead of reeling in the line yet again she would join Collin while keeping one had on the fishing pole. Awhile later while her parents were distracted or still freezing (she older post) She stared yelling that she had something on the line. Her dad gently told her to reel “it” in again. She asked her mom for help and she also said okay reel it in Zoe. Both parents knew that they two kids had been throwing rocks and you don’t catch fish while throwing rocks in next to your pole.
Zoe kept slowing reeling in her line and throwing rocks. Finally she had her line close enough that she knew she had something there. After a few “Hey you guys” and “Look Fish” She got both her parents attention.
Yes they quickly agreed she had something there on the beach waiting not quite sure what to do. Her parents quickly felt remanded that they hadn’t helped earlier. They also realized that you can catch fish while being loud and throwing rocks. My Grandpa Walker would be proud.
